Hello! I’m Lorena from Tarragona and living in Ibiza (Madrid)

I’m super excited to participate in the Lady Beat Fest. It’s such an honor to share the booth with such top girls!!

A big lover of Early, Northern, Blue-eyed Soul, not to mention the darker sounds of the 80s, Britpop, and croquettes, I started DJing back in 2002 at the legendary FOREVER in Oviedo. After that, there were parties, events, and various festivals: Mod Generation, Drummers, Someday, Purple Weekend, Where Soul Begins, The Real Side, Soul Tempo, Genarín, Gamblers, Different Strokes, Feel The Rhythm, Boosters, VSO Weekender, Weekend Dancers, Sevilla SS…

Hello! I’m Mónica, known as Monique Lollipop, from Asturias and living in Pamplona. From a very young age, I have balanced my profession as a pianist and Conservatory teacher with the 60’s scene. From collaborating on keyboards in recordings with bands, organizing festivals, DJing, and attending countless events across Spain and other European countries. Currently, I am one of the organizers of The Beat Goes On, a party we set up at the Hotel Piedra in Perlora (Asturias), and a member of the Trouble & Tea Crew of Yeyé in Gijón. Excited to return to the capital with my suitcase full of a selection of 7″ records from my collection, of blue eyed soul, yeyé, garage, and freakbeat. I am also very grateful to the organizers of the Lady Beat Fest for inviting me to spin in their booth this edition. It is a real pride to be part of this initiative that showcases the amazing talent of women behind the decks and on stage, as well as in other artistic disciplines.

I’m PaulAnka (AKA Ania). I was born in Poland and have been living in Madrid for 14 years. I started DJing in bars in Gdańsk, and now my sets can be heard between Lavapiés and Malasaña, in places like Olivia, Huelga, Madre Flaca, and Horacioo Fun House.

I mainly spin music from the ’80s, and sounds from that era, the one I grew up with and that still connects me to my country: punk 77, post-punk, new wave, Italo disco, and electro. I like guitars, but only if they fill the dance floor. That’s why 60s and 90s garage also make it into my sets.

In my collection, bands with female frontwomen rule, bands with a special sensitivity, a bit challenging, that don’t quite fit in, and that’s exactly why I find them wonderful. Sometimes a gem comes from Poland.
